Management in Training (MIT) Program – Sales
This entry-level, hands-on program is located in distribution warehouses in Tallahassee, Brooksville, Pensacola, and Royal Palm Beach. It offers a 6-month training program in the swimming pool supply, irrigation and landscape distribution industry, leading to a long-term career in B2B sales.
What You Will Do:
• Receive hands-on sales training through:
• Traveling with outside sales representatives
• Participating in sales and service calls
• Shadowing contractors, service/maintenance professionals, and retail store customers
• Participate in classroom training sessions at the EDGEucation Center in Plano, Texas, covering topics like:
• Sales
• Financials
• Human capital management
• Operating systems
• Learn management viewpoints, company policies, and procedures.
• Increase job knowledge through:
• Sales conferences
• Sales certifications
• Marketing trend research
• Use of marketing tools
• Set and achieve performance goals with the MIT Programs Manager and Director of Sales and Employee Development.
• Deliver a comprehensive presentation to senior management at the end of the 6-month program.
• Perform other job duties and special sales projects as assigned.
What We Are Looking For:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Management, Selling & Sales Management, Marketing or other related discipline (minimum 2.5 GPA).
• Experience: At least 6 months of work experience in sales and/or customer service (or sales internships, organizations/clubs, volunteer work/community service, athletics or military leadership).
• Skills:
• Results driven, self-starter with leadership skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and handle rejection.
• Motivated, passionate, customer service driven attitude with a competitive spirit.
• Effective communication skills with customers, employees, and all levels of management.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with the ability to learn AMP CRM and inventory systems.
• Other:
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to relocate during and after the program (at company expense).
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Ability to occasionally maneuver heavy machinery and lift up to 75 pounds.
