Job Description:
Senate Page and Receptionist
This is a full-time, onsite intern position with a competitive hourly rate of $20/hr.
Responsibilities:
• Senate Chamber Duties:
• Be present during all daily Senate sessions.
• Follow the Secretary of the Senate’s instructions.
• Deliver handouts to Senators, including bills, daily order of business, messages, etc.
• Be attentive to Senators’ legislative needs.
• File bills and other documents.
• Deliver bills between the legislative printing office, Senate, and House of Representatives.
• Reception Duties:
• Manage reception responsibilities in the East office building when the Senate is not in session.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Punctuality, dependability, and non-partisanship are essential.
• Ability to interact with people with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
• Familiarity with an office environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, prioritizing tasks, and working under pressure and time constraints.
