The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Authority Brands. Authority Brands is a leading provider of home services, building brands that support the success of franchisees and better the lives of homeowners and employees. This position supports core accounting for brand P&Ls and shared services across the company’s multi-brand platform. The Core Accountant is vital for preparing accurate journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, ensuring timely and well-supported financial results during the monthly close process.

• Team: Reports to the Accounting Manager, supporting core accounting for brand P&Ls and shared services.
• Mission: To deliver accurate coding and timely, well-supported financial results for brand P&Ls and shared services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and prepaid schedules for assigned brands and shared services.
• Record: Record payroll entries, including bonus, commission, and benefits accruals, ensuring proper financial representation.
• Reconcile: Perform comprehensive balance sheet account reconciliations and promptly resolve any identified variances.
• Ensure: Ensure accurate department, location, and general ledger coding is applied across all financial entries.
• Support: Contribute to process improvement initiatives and assist with special projects as needed within the accounting department.

• Background: Early-career professional responsible for core accounting functions.
• Experience: Practical experience with monthly close processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and performing account reconciliations.
• Skills: Proficiency in journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliation, accrual and prepaid schedule management, general ledger coding, and flux analysis.
