The Tone:
This is a full-time role at NSK Steering Systems America, a key division of NSK, a global manufacturer recognized for its ball and roller bearings, linear motion technology, automotive components, and steering systems. NSK’s extensive operations span domestic and overseas manufacturing, complemented by a full range of services including reconditioning, ball screw repair, product integration, application engineering, and predictive and preventative maintenance. NSK’s high-precision products are integral to diverse industries, from wind turbines and machine tools to automotive components found in vehicles from leading automakers. The Accountant B role is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of NSK Steering Systems America. This individual will apply foundational accounting principles to manage critical financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, robust inventory control, and effective management of accounts receivable and treasury functions. By performing these essential duties, the Accountant B directly supports the company’s financial health and compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Receivable & Treasury: Primarily manage all activities related to accounts receivable and treasury functions for the company, ensuring adherence to established accounting policies and procedures.
• Financial Reporting & Closing: Prepare and review accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and assist in coordinating comprehensive month-end and year-end closing procedures for the general ledger.
• Financial Analysis & Reconciliation: Conduct detailed monthly analyses encompassing sales, SG&A expenses, and price variance, in addition to performing regular account reconciliations.
• Inventory & Lease Management: Provide assistance with various inventory-related activities for the corporation, including supporting physical inventory counts, and meticulously maintain lease accounting schedules.
• Process Improvement & Special Projects: Prepare and recommend improvements to existing accounting systems and procedures, and undertake special financial projects as assigned by leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, preparing for an early career in accounting.
• Experience: 0-5 years of position-related experience, demonstrating foundational accounting knowledge.
• Skills: Understanding and application of accounting principles and procedures, financial analysis, financial reporting, general ledger management, and account reconciliation.
• Bonus: Prior public accounting experience.
