The Tone:
This is a Hybrid role at Confidential Employer, located in Bangalore. Zscaler builds a SASE-based Zero Trust Exchange platform, which is the world’s largest in-line cloud security platform, protecting customers from cyberattacks and data loss by securely connecting users, devices, and applications globally. This role is crucial for architecting, building, and scaling critical security operations and exposure management infrastructure, helping Zscaler pioneer security transformation in the AI era.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: Hybrid – Bangalore, India
• Team: Exposure Management & Security Operations department, reporting to the Director, Software Development Engineering
• Mission: This role owns the architecting, building, and scaling of critical security operations and exposure management infrastructure.
• Tech Stack: Java, Spring frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security), Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, Git

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Design and develop high-quality, scalable, and secure software systems, including microservices and REST/gRPC APIs.
• Lead: Lead the design and implementation of distributed systems using Messaging, Search stores, and cloud storage solutions.
• Collaborate: Collaborate with front-end engineers to deliver APIs that enable user-focused, high-performance interfaces.
• Mentor: Mentor junior engineers and foster team growth through knowledge sharing and guidance.
• Monitor: Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize services with a DevOps mindset.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Principal level. Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within a functional domain.
• Experience: 13+ years of hands-on software application development experience with distributed systems and cloud storage solutions. Expertise across the full Software Development Life Cycle, including design, deployment, and system optimization.
• Skills: Proficiency with Java, Spring frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security), and containerization with Docker or Kubernetes. Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and experience with observability tools like DataDog, Grafana, or Prometheus. Version control with Git.
• Bonus: Experience integrating AI/ML model inference, AI security controls, or automated threat intelligence into high-throughput microservices. Expertise in designing for SLAs, high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization. Background in test-driven development (TDD), Agile workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and relational or NoSQL databases.
