International Treasury Accountant | Sun World International

The Tone:
This is a hybrid full-time position at Sun World International, requiring three days in the office in California. Sun World International is a prominent California-based agriculture and technology firm, recently recognized in the Top 20 of Forbes Best-In-State Companies, specializing in fruit variety development, technology, intellectual property, and licensing. The International Treasury Accountant plays a critical role in upholding the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the company by ensuring the accurate, secure, and timely execution and accounting of all global banking and payment activities. This position is central to administering day-to-day bank operations and maintaining robust financial controls.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payment Execution & Control: Prepare and execute diverse domestic and international payments, including wires, ACH, and checks, strictly adhering to authorization limits, and verify all payment requests for appropriate approvals and support, implementing independent validation for high-risk instructions.
• Daily Cash Operations: Retrieve and distribute bank balances and transaction activity daily, accurately recording all cash movements, and actively identify and coordinate timely resolution for any unusual, rejected, or stale transactions.
• Bank Administration & Fraud Prevention: Maintain precise bank account records, authorized signer documentation, and user-access listings, while actively administering positive pay and other bank fraud-prevention tools and reporting exceptions promptly.
• Financial Close & Audit Support: Execute approved intercompany transfers and settlement instructions, retain complete support, and provide comprehensive bank statements, reconciliations, payment support, and cash schedules for month-end close, financial audits, and internal reviews.
• Process Optimization: Maintain banking and payment procedures, cross-train designated backups, and continually identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and strengthen internal controls related to treasury operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with at least two years in accounting, treasury operations, banking, or cash management.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience managing payment processes, bank reconciliations, and internal controls using ERP systems, online banking platforms, and Excel.
• Skills: Working knowledge of journal entries, bank reconciliations, payment processes, internal controls, and familiarity with foreign-currency payments.
• Bonus: Experience in a multi-entity or international organization and experience using Business Central.
