Tax Intern – Winter 2028 – Bloomington/Champaign/Peoria, IL | CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen)

The TL;DR

• Pay: $25–$35 hourly
• Mission: Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns while supporting client engagements on time and within budget.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Complete individual, corporate, partnership, and various other types of tax returns.
• Develop: Gain experience, exposure, and knowledge of tax procedures, workpapers, and relevant systems.
• Support: Assist with multiple client engagements, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget, identifying issues, and communicating progress.
• Grow: Expand industry knowledge through increased exposure to peers, clients, and formal training opportunities.
• Collaborate: Communicate effectively with clients and CLA team members on a regular basis.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; General knowledge of accounting principles and financial data reporting.
• Experience: Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state regulations.
• Skills: Willingness to learn new technologies; Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products; Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.
• Bonus: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred.
