Global Tax Intern | Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a temporary internship at Alexion-AstraZeneca Rare Disease, located in New Haven, CT. Alexion-AstraZeneca focuses on developing therapies for rare diseases. This role is crucial for supporting the global tax team in managing tax planning, administration, and compliance, contributing to the company’s financial operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Research: Conduct basic US federal and state tax research on issues impacting the company as requested.
• Corporate Projects: Provide support on corporate tax projects and initiatives.
• Compliance Data: Assist in coordinating the data gathering of information needed to prepare the Company’s tax returns.
• Audit & Transfer Pricing: Support in gathering information and drafting documentation for State income and franchise tax audits and Transfer Pricing reports.
• Structure Documentation: Document changes to the tax structure as a result of acquisitions and other transactions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level undergraduate rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, or a related field, with an expected graduation date after August 2027. US Work Authorization is required at time of application.
• Experience: Strong computer skills and functionality with the Microsoft Office 365 suite of products.
• Skills: Attention to detail and accuracy, an ability to handle multiple assignments, the capacity to work independently for periods of time, and enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.
