The Tone:

This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and compliant end-to-end payroll execution within the region, serving as a subject matter expert for complex payroll matters. You will contribute to Deel’s mission of creating the infrastructure for the future of work, enabling a more diverse and inclusive global economy.

• Mission: Own end-to-end payroll execution for specific countries or regions as a regional subject matter expert.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, local payroll software solutions, Deel product technology

What You’ll Actually Do
• Software Evaluation: Evaluate and select relevant software for running payroll, incorporating Deel product technology requirements.
• Payroll Execution: Ensure accurate and timely execution of payroll in your region and other trained countries.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare and reconcile internal payroll reports, ensuring compliance with local tax authorities.
• Process Ownership: Own all critical local payroll and HR processes, including setting up involuntary deductions and supporting employee onboardings and offboardings.
• Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed of relevant local regulatory and policy changes, communicating and establishing key changes across teams.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field with core domain knowledge in payroll and HR.
• Experience: 5+ years of payroll and HR experience with specific experience in the relevant country.
• Skills: Strong working knowledge of local regulations and policies related to payroll and HR; advanced knowledge of local payroll software solutions; intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets; strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
• Bonus: Experience managing technology and external payroll providers; experience with implementation of new payrolls on an industry-recognized solution; experience in multiple country jurisdictions or with multiple payroll technologies; ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
