• Mission: This person is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate and detailed accounting records, preparing financial statements and reports, and ensuring financial compliance within the department.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain Records: Accurately maintains all assigned accounting records and performs related accounting functions.
• Process Transactions: Prepares daily accounting entries, monitors accounts, and ensures account balances are accurate.
• Reconcile Accounts: Reconciles complex accounts and resolves any discrepancies or outages.
• Support Reporting: Coordinates month-end accounting activities, assists in preparing financial statements, and issues monthly reports.
• Ensure Compliance: Identifies process improvements, ensures compliance with accounting policies and GAAP, and responds to internal/external inquiries.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with a required working knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of accounting-related experience in the financial industry or public accounting.
• Skills: Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word; excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills; strong analytical abilities and critical thinking.
• Bonus: Working toward a Master’s degree or other certification (CPA, CMA, etc.).
