Assurance Intern, Third Party Attestation | BDO USA
The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at BDO USA, located in Dallas, TX. BDO USA is a 11,077-person organization that provides assurance, tax, and advisory services to clients across the U.S. and around the world. This role is crucial in helping large global and other growth companies address their external compliance requirements in the areas of technology, security, system processing, and privacy by learning to prepare various third-party attestation reports.

• Mission: Learn to prepare third-party attestation reports and apply governing standards to document, validate, test, and assess control systems.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Testing: Test and document internal control systems across a variety of industries.
• Review: Participate in the review of internal controls.
• Reporting: Assist in the preparation of reports and recommendations related to the work performed.
• Documentation: Prepare work papers in accordance with BDO policy.
• Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with both the engagement team and client personnel.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent required. A focus in Accounting or Information Systems is preferred.
• Experience: Previous internship or experience working within a public accounting or internal auditing environment is preferred. Leadership experience is also preferred.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to follow instructions as directed, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Bonus: Possesses a positive attitude and willingness to learn. The ability and willingness to travel, as needed, is required.
