The Tone:
This is an early career accounting position at Lochinvar, LLC. Lochinvar is part of A.O. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting plant operations through accurate financial reporting and analysis. The Accountant I ensures compliance with accounting principles and company policies while contributing to the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.

• Team: Reports to an accounting manager.
• Mission: To prepare, examine, and interpret accounting and financial records, reports, and statements, ensuring compliance with company and GAAP policies.
• Tech Stack: Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis), ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Infor, Epicor, NetSuite)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Expense Management: Assemble plant expense analyses, report updates to staff, and coordinate accounts payable for all plant operations.
• Financial Reconciliation: Prepare comprehensive bank reconciliations for operating, disbursement, payroll, and investment accounts, and analyze and reconcile general accounting discrepancies.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare specific monthly journal entries, sales tax returns, warranty expense account analysis, and report on utility use and expenditures, all while observing GAAP and company policies.
• Cost Accounting: Settle and close production orders, investigate production variances, and provide internal financial and cycle count audits with issue reporting.
• Budget & Support: Reconcile all expenses to budget, review purchase orders, update the plant manager on exceptions, and provide backup for payroll, invoicing, and sales updating.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: Internship, co-op, or 1-2 years of accounting experience is preferred.
• Skills: Strong Excel proficiency, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Bonus: Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite is preferred, as is exposure to manufacturing or inventory accounting. SAP knowledge is a plus.
