• Mission: Learn to conduct operational and technology assessments, plan carve-out or merger integration transactions, deliver post-close execution management, and advise on sell-side transactions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams specializing in mergers and acquisitions, demonstrating executive presence with C-level client counterparts.
• Due Diligence Support: Support due diligence site visits to identify operational and technology strategies, organizational structures, and current state business processes and technology support.
• Strategic Assessment: Assess operational and technology investment strategies, comparing operating models and organizational structures against leading practices and industry benchmarks.
• Project Execution: Work with engagement leadership to deliver post-close projects that implement operational processes and technologies, enhancing value creation and process efficiency.
• Methodology & Innovation: Support the development and enhancement of West Monroe’s M&A methodologies and client delivery approaches, applying emerging AI technologies to improve efficiency and insights.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in progress, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028. This is an entry-level position focused on developing expertise in Mergers & Acquisitions consulting.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership through academics, extracurricular activities, or prior work experience. Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with critical thinking to assess accuracy and mitigate bias.
• Skills: Sharp analytical thinking for complex problem-solving, effective written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative mindset, ability to stay organized and manage priorities, and curiosity about emerging technologies including AI.
• Bonus: Majors in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or Supply Chain Management.
