CFO Advisory Consulting Intern | West Monroe

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Advisory: Assist Chief Financial Officers in identifying and implementing improvement opportunities in financial close, reporting, forecasting, and analytics by assessing current states, aligning strategies, and developing transformational roadmaps for modernization.
• Technology Enablement: Contribute to technology selection and implementation efforts, including assessing IT landscapes, aligning IT strategy, supporting software selection from requirements to vendor evaluation, and participating in platform design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
• AI Application: Utilize AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, while exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs.
• Outcome Optimization: Apply various technologies, including generative AI and automation tools, to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in progress with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028, a requirement to be confirmed at the offer stage and verified by official transcripts; an ineligible graduation date will result in ineligibility for this entry-level consulting internship.
• Experience: Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without limitation or sponsorship. Ability to reside within 50 miles of the assigned office before the start date due to the hybrid work model, with a willingness to travel up to 50% for client engagements. Demonstrated leadership through academics, extracurricular activities, or prior work. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Practical experience integrating AI tools like ChatGPT into daily workflows to enhance productivity and insight, along with critical thinking to assess accuracy and mitigate bias.
• Skills: Sharp analytical thinking with an interest in complex problem-solving. Effective written and verbal communication skills. A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork. Strong organizational abilities to manage priorities in a changing environment. Curiosity about emerging technologies like AI and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
• Bonus: Academic background in Accounting, Business Administration, Data Science, Economics, or Finance.
