The Tone:
This is a full-time 18-to-24-month development program with Martin Marietta, location not specified. Martin Marietta, a member of the S&P 500 Index, is a leading American-based supplier of heavy building materials including aggregates, cement, ready-mixed concrete, and asphalt, operating across 28 states, Canada, and the Bahamas. This program is designed to develop future leaders by providing a comprehensive understanding of the ready-mix business, building essential leadership, technical, and business competencies for future supervisory and management roles. What You’ll Actually Do
• Master Production Operations: Learn and actively participate in all aspects of ready-mix concrete manufacturing, plant operations, and associated quality assurance requirements, understanding industry specifications and testing procedures.
• Coordinate Daily Activities: Assist in managing and coordinating daily production activities across multiple ready-mix facilities, ensuring optimal product availability and meeting all customer service requirements efficiently.
• Drive Operational Excellence: Monitor plant performance, analyze production workflows, and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing safety, quality, production efficiency, and cost control.
• Assure Product Quality: Support batching operations, monitor concrete consistency and performance, and develop a comprehensive understanding of mix designs, aggregate characteristics, admixtures, and cementitious materials to ensure all products meet quality standards.
• Cultivate Leadership & Safety: Gain exposure to workforce management, employee engagement, and supervisory responsibilities, while actively promoting Martin Marietta’s safety culture and core values in all operational activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: No prior work experience is required.
• Skills: Familiarity with the Ready-Mix industry, understanding of OSHA compliance and regulations, effective written and spoken communication, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and strong time management abilities.
• Bonus: 6 months to 1 year of industry-related internships or work experience in Ready-Mix.
