Risk Specialist Intern – Summer 2027 | Amazon

The Tone:
This is a 12-week full-time summer internship at Amazon, offering relocation assistance for eligible candidates, with an annual pay of $80,200 in Seattle, WA. Amazon is a global company that builds products and services reaching millions, shaping how people live, work, and connect daily. As a Risk Specialist Intern, you will significantly contribute to the organization’s success by identifying and mitigating risks across various core business areas. You will gain exposure to diverse global processes and systems, making a real impact from day one.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Dive Deep: Understand complex business processes to identify risks related to operations, regulatory compliance, organizational structure, policy, and technology.
• Assess Risks: Participate in the planning, scoping, execution, and reporting of assessments based on identified risks within the company.
• Develop Findings: Create meaningful findings that effectively communicate identified risks to business stakeholders and contribute to mitigation strategies.
• Partner with Teams: Collaborate with Amazon’s businesses to analyze data and address real-world problems in areas like Internal Audit, Fraud and Forensics, and AWS Risk Management.
• Protect Amazon: Add value and help safeguard Amazon across various domains including Vendor Investigations, Transportation Risk, Global Financial Risk, and Consumer Governance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Operations, Accounting, Finance, Pre-Law, Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Statistics, Symbolic Systems, IT, or a relevant field.
• Experience: Currently enrolled with a graduation conferral date between December 2027 and June 2028, able to work 40 hours/week throughout a 12-week summer internship, and proficient in Microsoft Office Excel.
• Skills: Ability to understand complex business processes, analyze data, and communicate findings effectively.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA, audit experience related to business processes, risk mitigation, program or regulatory compliance, internal audit, or other control and assurance functions, a desire to learn processes and ability to work independently, strong interpersonal, written, and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
