Safran DSI Optronics, headquartered in Bedford, NH, is a global leader in designing and producing electro-optic and navigation systems for military and law enforcement personnel. The Accounting Intern will support the finance team by assisting with the mapping and documentation of financial processes, contributing to accurate records and compliance in a mission-focused environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process Mapping & Documentation: Document financial processes and workflows, including Sales Orders, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, and Reconciliation.
• Financial Data Management: Gather, review, and organize financial data for budgeting and assist with monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
• Departmental Understanding: Understand the finance department’s structure, workflows, and strategic objectives by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Project Support: Assist financial professionals with administrative tasks for special projects and support project budget tracking.
• Audit & Compliance: Help prepare for audits and compile documentation for compliance measures to ensure adherence to compliance standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• Experience: US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail; strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively; excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Bonus: Familiarity with SAP software; ability to create interactive dashboards and visualizations in Microsoft Power BI; proficiency in using Microsoft Visio to design process flows; ability to leverage AI tools or platforms for financial forecasting; demonstrated ability to contribute to projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams; experience working in an ITAR environment.
