The Tone:
This is an internship at Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services, located in Baton Rouge, LA, specifically at Louisiana State University. Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services provides comprehensive dining services to colleges and universities. This role is crucial for supporting the Controller team by assisting with daily financial operations and special projects, providing valuable hands-on experience in accounting and business processes within a campus environment.

• Mission: Assists with accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales data entry, and various financial projects to support accounting operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable: Enter and process vendor invoices accurately and timely.
• Accounts Receivable: Create and process customer invoices.
• Sales Data Management: Enter, validate, and reconcile sales data.
• Financial Closing: Assist with weekly and month-end close activities.
• Financial Record Keeping: Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation while also performing general administrative tasks.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. This is an Entry-Level position.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to handle confidential information professionally; strong communication and problem-solving skills.
