Accounting Intern | Heritage Auctions

The Tone:
This is an internship at Heritage Auctions, located in Dallas, Texas, offering hands-on experience in accounting. Heritage Auctions builds connections between collectors and extraordinary objects as the world’s largest collectibles auctioneer. This role is crucial for supporting the accounting team by gaining practical experience in audit preparation, lease accounting, and financial reporting projects within an international auction house.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Support: Organize and review supporting documentation to prepare for audits.
• Project Assistance: Assist the accounting team with various special projects and day-to-day tasks.
• Tax Reporting: Compile and organize vendor and payment information to support 1099 reporting.
• Lease Accounting: Maintain lease records and prepare supporting schedules in accordance with ASC 842 under accounting team guidance.
• Data Integrity: Support report development projects by organizing data and validating report accuracy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting with a basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience: Completion of at least two years of college coursework is preferred, along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to follow instructions, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Bonus: Interest in financial reporting and data analysis; familiarity with Power BI.
