Administrative Fellow | Bayhealth

The Tone:
This is a one-year, full-time leadership development program for post-graduate students at Bayhealth, located throughout Central and Southern Delaware in Kent and Sussex Counties. Bayhealth is a healthcare leader dedicated to providing comprehensive medical services through its hospitals and various practice settings. This role is crucial for developing future healthcare managers by offering hands-on experience and a deep understanding of an integrated health system, directly supporting Bayhealth’s strategic objectives.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, Kent and Sussex Counties, DE

• Team: Reports to the Vice President Physician Services and is mentored by senior leaders and executives.
• Mission: To cultivate post-graduate leaders in healthcare management through comprehensive, hands-on experience across core organizational functions and strategic initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Provide written summaries of experiences and key takeaways, including feedback for program improvement, at the conclusion of each rotation.
• Engagement: Regularly meet and engage with preceptor and mentors to ensure a mutually beneficial and informative program experience.
• Collaboration: Attend relevant management and administrative meetings, offering administrative support when necessary.
• Project Work: Build relationships across the organization and contribute meaningful work through various projects and management opportunities.
• Presentation: Prepare and present project-related information and findings to Bayhealth’s leadership team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Completion of a Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent) in Health Care Health Administration or a related business field. Candidates in the second year of a program that requires an administrative fellowship are also eligible to apply.
• Experience: Some related healthcare industry experience, such as internships, applicable employment, or project work, is desired but not strictly required for this post-graduate leadership development program.
• Skills: Demonstrated attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to meet deadlines, alongside strong presentation and relationship-building capabilities.
