• Mission: To support the Financial Reporting & Assurance Services team by performing engagement procedures and assisting in the preparation of financial statements, ultimately ensuring their fair presentation in accordance with GAAP.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Execute: Perform comprehensive financial reporting engagement procedures for clients across various industries, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
• Prepare: Assist in the thorough preparation and meticulous proofing of financial statements and other critical financial documents.
• Document: Create clear, complete, and adequate working papers for assigned audit sections, reflecting detailed engagement procedures.
• Analyze: Develop and perform effective analytical procedures on account balances, interpreting outcomes and relating them to other relevant assigned areas.
• Audit: Plan and conduct operational and financial audits, applying the firm’s audit approach to ensure that financial statements are fairly presented in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
The Must-Haves
• Background: Working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Experience: While specific years of experience are not required for this internship, candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to professional and client service excellence, mirroring the expectations for first-year staff. The role demands the ability to work a full 40-hour week.
• Skills:
1. Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), accounting, and auditing standards/theory.
2. Ability to clearly and adequately document working papers.
3. Proficiency in current technology and software, including the ability to research technical issues using resources like Accounting Research Manager.
4. Competence in developing and performing effective analytical procedures on account balances.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and team interaction.
