The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role, located in the Paramus, NJ area. Vaco by Highspring is a recruiting firm assisting a well-established organization in finding a detail-oriented and motivated accounting professional. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and contributing to the integrity of the organization’s financial operations. It offers an excellent opportunity to expand experience across general accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

• Mission: To maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial statements, and support crucial financial close processes.
• Tech Stack: NetSuite, Microsoft Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and manage the Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet for assigned brands/territories.
• Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules, including assigned monthly balance sheet accounts.
• Close Procedures: Play a key role in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze Income Statement and Balance Sheet variances and identify discrepancies.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit sales tax returns for assigned brands/territories.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Experience: 1+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Skills: Strong general accounting and account reconciliation skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel, strong mathematical and analytical abilities, high attention to detail, strong organizational skills.
• Bonus: Public accounting experience and/or CPA, NetSuite experience.
