The Tone:
This is an internship at Gorton’s, located in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Since 1849, Gorton’s has been a trusted national brand, making quality seafood accessible to everyone. This role offers a rich opportunity for professional growth, allowing interns to contribute to vital financial operations within either the Customer Finance or Financial Accounting area. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of various finance activities and make a difference in a fun and collaborative environment.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person Gloucester, MA
• Pay: $20–$25 hourly
• Mission: This person will contribute to either Customer Finance or Financial Accounting, ensuring smooth financial transactions, reporting, and operational support across the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist in managing financial transactions between Gorton’s and large retail grocery customers across the United States and Canada.
• Support financial reporting, audit preparations, cash management, and treasury activities.
• Contribute to accounting-related functions including cost accounting, inventory audit, and accounts payable.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams suchating as Marketing, Sales, Operations, Information Technology, and Logistics.
• Develop a foundational understanding of various finance activities and operations within Gorton’s.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree Candidate majoring in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Career interest in Corporate Finance and/or Accounting; preferably completing junior year of study.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to work independently, outstanding attention to accuracy and detail, solid written and verbal communication skills, initiative, self-starter, solid PC skills, and ability to effectively interact with a wide range of people.
