Corporate Accountant | Dyno Nobel

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Dyno Nobel, primarily focusing on general accounting services for the North American operations. Dyno Nobel is a global leader in commercial explosives, manufacturing, and blasting technology for industries like mining, quarry, construction, and seismic. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the Controller group, and ensuring the financial health that allows the company to optimize operations, improve productivity, and reduce environmental impact.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist with month-end close procedures, including booking journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Prepare various accounting statements such as working papers, schedules, exhibits, or summaries to provide business information to management and field personnel.
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documents to audit teams upon request.
• Communicate with supervisors, managers, field staff, and other business, corporate, accounting, and finance personnel to obtain and exchange information.
• Perform planning, primarily regarding individual workload, to effectively meet established deadlines and business objectives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred) or finance.
• Experience: 3+ years experience preferred, though recent college graduates may also be considered.
• Skills: Knowledge of accounting journal entries and their impact on financial statements, understanding of accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Bonus: CPA preferred, and knowledge or the ability to learn SAP and company accounting software.
