Inventory Manager | Ryder

The Tone:

• Location: In-person, Victorville, CA
• Pay: $80000 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Senior Logistics Manager; oversees cycle counters and a clerk.
• Mission: To track and manage all incoming and finished goods materials, packaging supplies, and provide accounting support for inventory issues to assure facility goals and objectives are met.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Inventory Tracking: Track day-to-day facility inventory costs and support facility Key Performance Indicators to consistently meet established goals.
• System Development: Develop and maintain inventory control systems that meet ongoing and future facility needs.
• Program Management: Manage the facility cycle count program and the inventory recoup/repack/return/recycle program.
• Operational Support: Provide floor support to Operations Supervisors and hourly associates regarding inventory issues, and office support to I/O Coordinators and receiving/shipping personnel.
• Employee Development: Positively influence and assist in the development of employees, conducting periodic performance evaluations for direct reports.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level with a H.S. diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in logistics, supply chain, or a related field. Core knowledge in manufacturing/production/distribution inventory, PC Inventory, and accounting principles.
• Experience: Three (3) years or more manufacturing/production/distribution inventory experience required. Two (2) years or more supervisory experience required. Three (3) years or more PC Inventory and accounting skills required.
• Skills: Analytical problem-solving, sound decision making, effective verbal and written communication, strong follow-up practices, highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows, intermediate computer skills.
• Bonus: Exposure to Lean principles, systems and tools (beginner preferred). Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) (intermediate preferred). Knowledge of OSHA required (intermediate required). DOT and Hazmat knowledge may be required based on the account (intermediate preferred). APICS certification (intermediate preferred). Three (3) years or more problem-solving skills experience, with use of formal Root Cause Countermeasure Systems preferred.
