Staff Accountant | Octopi Brewing – Part of Asahi Beer USA

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Octopi Brewing, located in Wisconsin. Octopi Brewing, part of Asahi Beer USA, specializes in brewing and packaging beer, seltzers, RTDs, and sodas for clients nationwide, now also serving as the U.S. production home of Asahi Super Dry. The Staff Accountant plays a key role within the Finance team, ensuring the company’s financial information remains accurate, reliable, and audit-ready as the business continues to grow.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger: Prepare and post journal entries, then investigate and maintain general ledger account activity.
• Reconciliations & Close: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Transactional Accounting: Process and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and company bank deposits.
• Reporting & Compliance: Support preparation of financial statements, management reports, and file tax reporting requirements.
• Record Keeping: Maintain audit-ready accounting records, track purchase orders, and reconcile company credit card accounts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: 2-year accounting or business degree with 1–2 years of related experience, or a 4-year accounting degree; working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent attention to detail.
• Bonus: Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes; experience supporting fixed asset accounting.
