Summer 2027/Winter 2028 Tax or Audit Internship | Baker Tilly US

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Baker Tilly US, a leading advisory, tax, and assurance firm, operating in a hybrid work environment across various US locations. This role offers hands-on experience in either tax or audit engagements, providing an opportunity to contribute to meaningful client work and strengthen technical accounting knowledge, technology, communication, and client service skills.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaborate: Collaborate with engagement team members and clients to obtain information and maintain well-supported documentation for assigned audit or tax engagements.
• Support Engagements: Assist with assigned audit procedures, including testing account balances and financial information, or help with preparing federal, state, and local tax returns, workpapers, and calculations.
• Document Findings: Prepare clear workpapers documenting procedures, evidence, results, and conclusions in accordance with firm methodologies and professional standards.
• Analyze & Research: Analyze information for engagements, and for tax roles, conduct research and document findings to support engagement team questions and client needs.
• Develop Skills: Apply coaching and feedback to strengthen technical knowledge and work quality, demonstrate professionalism, and participate in training and team activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled or pursuing a bachelor’s degree program in Accounting or a related business discipline from an accredited institution. Must have at least one academic term remaining following completion of the internship. Entry-Level career.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is required.
• Skills: Foundational accounting knowledge developed through academic coursework, ability to conduct basic research and analyze information, openness to learning emerging technologies, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Bonus: Previous internship, academic, leadership, volunteer, customer service, or other relevant experience and demonstrated interest in accounting or professional services are preferred; on track to meet the educational requirements for CPA exam eligibility prior to the start of a full-time Associate position.
