Corporate Accounting Co-op – Summer 2027 | Fifth Third Bank

The Tone:
This is a co-op position at Fifth Third Bank, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Fifth Third Bank is a prominent financial institution that provides banking services. This role offers students practical experience in various aspects of corporate accounting. The individual in this position will contribute to essential financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance while operating within the Bank’s risk appetite.

• Mission: To gain hands-on experience in corporate accounting functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting, while contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Closing Processes: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes for the accounting department.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and various reports.
• Data Accuracy: Perform account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
• Compliance Reviews: Participate in internal audits and compliance reviews to uphold regulatory standards.
• Data Analysis: Analyze financial data and provide insights to support informed decision-making by leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing an Accounting, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or related degree. Must be a rising sophomore, rising junior, or rising senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Experience: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
• Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Bonus: Relevant internships and/or co-op program experience; Capacity to learn additional software applications as required by assignments.
