Property Accountant | RPM Living

This is a hybrid Property Accountant role at RPM Living, requiring associates to work in one of our corporate or regional offices four days per week. The Property Accountant significantly contributes to this mission by meticulously managing financial reporting, cash, and the general ledger for a designated portfolio of properties.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Information Preparation: Prepare comprehensive monthly financial information for a portfolio of properties, ensuring strict adherence to established deadlines, reporting requirements, accounting policies, and effective internal controls.
• Client Financial Reporting: Generate detailed financial reports tailored to the unique requirements of multiple clients, communicating and collaborating effectively with both clients and property management while providing exceptional customer service.
• Cash Flow Management: Manage the daily cash balance and overall cash flow for properties, paying expenses, accurately predicting funding needs, performing bank reconciliations, and executing cash disbursements via wires and checks.
• General Ledger and Account Reconciliation: Precisely record journal entries and accruals, reconcile income, document prepaid rent using industry-specific software, and meticulously reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Technical Accounting Application: Apply detailed technical accounting skills to evaluate the appropriateness of accounting treatment for various transactions and ensure accuracy across all financial products.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution, or possess equivalent professional experience demonstrating a strong foundation in financial principles.
• Experience: Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, to manage financial data and communications effectively.
• Skills: Apply detailed technical accounting principles, execute robust financial reporting, manage complex cash flow and disbursements, and perform thorough general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
