Project Accountant | HDR

• Mission: Ensure accurate financial documentation, invoicing, and budget management for projects, supporting timely contract performance and issue resolution.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Billing: Create accurate client invoices in compliance with contract terms and accounting schedules.
• Financial Oversight: Manage collections and project budgeting, while providing backup assistance for coding and processing A/P, time sheets, and expense reports.
• Contract Administration: Conduct accurate contract documentation, administration, and maintenance, including fee and budget entry.
• Project Financial Support: Work with section and project personnel to provide timely contract performance data and resolve financial issues.
• System Coordination: Coordinate the project accounting system within the department and collaborate with technical staff to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Budget Entry: Enter project budget and funding information based on contract documents and details provided by Project Managers.
• File Integrity: Ensure project accounting files maintain appropriate documentation and accurate project reconciliation.
• Team Collaboration: Assist multiple project accountants and other staff members on a daily basis with various tasks.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate degree in a closely related field or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience: Familiarity with Earned Value Management.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, encompassing strong grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling, and professional telephone skills. Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks while collaborating with various managers. Must be self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to handle confidential information responsibly. Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word and Outlook, is required. A genuine commitment to actively participate in HDR’s employee-owned culture is essential.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields; experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction Industry; local candidates.
