This role is important as the Staff Accountant will be a key member of a global finance team, supporting crucial business lines like music distribution, premium artist services, and advertising, while contributing to core finance processes and projects.

• Mission: Own and maintain accurate financial records and processes for key business lines, ensuring compliance and supporting business growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Closing & Reporting: Manage monthly and annual closing and reporting specifically for the distribution line of business.
• Revenue & AR Ownership: Own Revenue Recognition and Accounts Receivable, including the reconciliation process between DSP reporting, the royalties system, and the general ledger.
• Advance Tracking: Track Cash and Marketing advance payments and recoupments, ensuring all recoupable expenses are accurately associated with an artist account.
• Transaction Processing: Create and process outgoing customer invoices, record associated cash receipts, and process record label and music publishing invoices and payments.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain General Ledger bookkeeping, ensuring accuracy and completeness for all P&L and balance sheet items within your respective business lines.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
• Experience: 1+ year in Accounting or Auditing, preferably in the music industry.
• Skills: Strong skills in MS Excel, good knowledge of ERP systems, excellent analytical skills, structured approach to work, strong sense of initiative.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Oracle Fusion ERP system.
