Army Reserve Administrator | United States Department of Defense
The Tone:
This is a Military Technician position with the United States Department of Defense, specifically assigned to the 377th Theater Sustainment Command, 441st Transportation Company, 828th Transportation Battalion, 642nd Regional Support Group, 143rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Department of Defense operates to provide the military forces needed to deter war and ensure national security. This role is fundamental in maintaining the administrative and operational readiness of an Army Reserve unit, directly supporting its mission through diligent management of personnel, logistics, and financial programs. It uniquely requires the successful candidate to hold active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve prior to commencing employment.

The Administrator represents the US Army Reserve Troop Program Unit Commander in their absence.
• Mission: To ensure the daily operational readiness of a US Army Reserve unit by managing its mission readiness program, encompassing critical administrative, personnel, medical, training, logistical, and financial functions.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Oversight: Manage the daily operations of a US Army Reserve unit’s mission readiness program.
• Unit Representation & Security: Represent the US Army Reserve Troop Program Unit Commander in his/her absence and serve as the unit physical security coordinator.
• Administrative & Correspondence Management: Perform as the record manager, review regulations and directives, implement changes, compile data for briefings, and prepare/review command correspondence.
• Readiness & Logistics Management: Manage unit and individual personnel, medical, and training readiness, and execute the unit’s supply and logistics program.
• Financial Program Administration: Administer the financial management program, including Government Purchasing and Travel Cards, and advise on pay, benefits, and entitlements.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education, in a field such as Organizational Management and Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, or Management.
• Experience: One year of specialized experience providing administrative assistance in support of a military unit or activity, including unit or individual training, medical readiness, personnel actions, financial actions, supply, or logistics; performing day-to-day administrative functions; and preparing or reviewing written products.
• Skills: Administrative assistance, personnel and medical readiness management, supply and logistics program execution, financial program administration, and command correspondence preparation.
