Accountant I – Client Reporting | IMS Integrated Merchandising Solutions

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at IMS Integrated Merchandising Solutions, located in Skokie, IL. IMS builds comprehensive marketing solutions for leading brands, encompassing digital and traditional signage, branded merchandise, and full-service execution from planning to fulfillment. This Accountant I role is critical for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and analyses for both internal teams and industry-leading clients, ensuring compliance and contributing to client working capital and internal processes.

• Team: Reports to a team lead within the Client Reporting team; works closely with cross-functional groups.
• Mission: Ensure accurate and timely accounting, reporting, and analysis for industry-leading clients, supporting overall financial operations.
• Tech Stack: ERP (JD Edwards/AS 400 queries), Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Close: Support the accurate and timely execution of month-end general accounting close and reporting processes.
• Financial Transactions: Prepare month-end journal entries and various accounting transactions.
• Reconciliation & Data Management: Reconcile weekly freight invoices and balance sheet accounts, and query large amounts of data from ERP systems to extract relevant points for reports.
• Compliance & Collaboration: Support and provide quality documentation on IMS policy and audit control compliance, and develop positive partnerships within finance and cross-functional teams.
• Professional Development: Ask questions and seek out opportunities to grow professionally within the organization.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Entry-level career stage.
• Experience: Relevant internship experience and/or 1+ years of work experience; experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards/AS 400 for querying.
• Skills: Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and an absolute must of strong Excel skillset including pivot table creation, VLOOKUP, and If/then formulas. General ease learning new systems and tools.
