The Tone:
This is a hybrid position at Pods, requiring 3 days onsite per week at our Clearwater, FL HQ. Pods relies on accurate financial reporting, and this role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our general ledger, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. You will be a foundational member of the accounting team, contributing to the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.

• Mission: Ensure accurate financial reporting by supporting month-end close processes and executing internal control procedures.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger Management: Prepare accurate and timely journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules across assigned accounts consistently.
• Financial Analysis & Research: Research reconciling items and unusual variances, understanding normal account activity and seeking help for discrepancies.
• Business Acumen Development: Build a working understanding of owned accounts, what drives them, how they connect to the business, and how to spot when something looks off.
• Compliance & Audit Support: Execute internal control procedures, maintain clean workpapers, and prepare supporting schedules for internal and external audit requests.
• Team Contribution: Provide support on ad hoc requests and projects as needed, demonstrating reliability and responsiveness as a teammate.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an associate’s degree with additional relevant experience.
• Experience: 0-2 years of accounting experience; internships are considered relevant experience.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, a willingness to ask questions and learn, basic knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and comfort with modern productivity and AI tools.
