Staff Accountant | Snap Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time in-person role at Snap Inc., located in Los Angeles, CA, or another Zone A office. Snap Inc. is a technology company building products like Snapchat, Specs Inc., Bitmoji, and Saturn, focused on empowering self-expression, living in the moment, and learning about the world through the camera. This role is critical within the CFO Organization’s Accounting team, ensuring financial health and accurate reporting by analyzing transactions, recording data, and optimizing accounting processes. The Staff Accountant’s work provides essential insights and information that support strategic and operational decisions across the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Close Processes: Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned areas as part of the monthly close process.
• Report Financials: Compile materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Analyze Accounts: Conduct various reconciliations and detailed analysis of account activity.
• Ensure Compliance: Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX.
• Support Audits: Assist with the annual financial statement audit, quarterly reviews, and periodic internal audits.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent years of experience as an accounting professional.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience as an accounting professional.
• Skills: Exceptional analytical and Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, VLookUps), strong accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP, and excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail.
• Bonus: CPA License (or in progress), Big 4 firm experience, Fortune 500 and/or private company experience, and experience working in cloud finance systems like Oracle.
