The Tone:
This is a 10-week summer internship program at CNA Insurance, located in Chicago, Illinois, with a hybrid working model. CNA is a 7,517-person organization that provides commercial property and casualty insurance products and services. This role is crucial for preparing highly talented Accounting and Finance students for corporate accounting and finance careers, offering a potential pathway to full-time positions and leadership roles within the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Engage in hands-on training across various accounting and finance disciplines within the Corporate Financial Services department.
• Contribution: Serve as an integral part of functional activities within areas such as Financial Reporting, Insurance Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Systems Governance, or Accounting Controls.
• Networking: Participate in networking opportunities with Finance staff and senior leaders throughout CNA.
• Skill Development: Acquire valuable skills, competencies, and knowledge relevant to the corporate accounting world.
• Education: Attend specialized classroom training developed for the program, focusing on insurance accounting, reporting, and CNA’s specific methodologies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field. A minimum 3.2 GPA (overall and major) is required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Strong problem-solving and project management skills, Ability to influence and develop collaborative relationships.
• Bonus: A minimum of 12 hours of Accounting credits preferred. Interest in CNA as a long-term career opportunity.
