This is a full-time internship at Marathon Petroleum Corporation, located in Findlay, San Antonio, and Denver. The accounting intern contributes foundational support to the Controller’s Organization, gaining experience vital for a future career.

• Mission: To provide foundational accounting experience, support the Controller’s Organization, and contribute to financial analysis and reporting within the petroleum industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze and process various business documents.
• Analyze accounting and financial data to prepare accurate journal entries for financial statements.
• Prepare reconcilements for general ledger accounts.
• Prepare necessary information for tax purposes.
• Test SOX and Non-SOX controls within auditing processes.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position requiring concurrent enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program, with Accounting as a required major, though other business majors may be considered.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required, but strong academic performance is necessary.
• Skills: Ability to analyze and process business documents, prepare financial statement journal entries, and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Bonus: Military experience.
