Accountant | Spotnana

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Spotnana, with a focus on supporting global operations within our growing Finance team. Spotnana is dedicated to modernizing the infrastructure of the $11.7 trillion travel industry through its Travel-as-a-Service platform. This Accountant position is critical for strengthening, refining, and scaling our accounting close processes as the company expands globally, playing a key part in building a world-class accounting function and delivering accurate financial insights.

• Mission: This person will strengthen, refine, and scale accounting close processes to deliver accurate, timely financial insights for Spotnana’s global operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate corporate accounting records and support a timely, accurate financial close in accordance with US GAAP.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare month-end and recurring journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts for various areas including cash, prepaids, accruals, and capex.
• Reconciliation & Expenses: Complete bank reconciliations for all entities and support the weekly reconciliation and posting of corporate card and expense reimbursement batches.
• Process Improvement: Identify and help implement process improvements—including automation—that increase the accuracy and efficiency of our close process.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with the FP&A team on expense variances and research any discrepancies, and collaborate with the AP team providing accounting and backup support.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; foundational knowledge of US GAAP principles.
• Experience: A minimum of 1 year of accounting or related experience, with involvement in supporting yearly audits.
• Skills: Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, proficiency with ERP systems, advanced Excel/MS Office/Google Workspace skills, effective communication and documentation, high attention to detail, proactive mindset, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, solid organization and time-management skills, and an adaptable mindset.
• Bonus: CPA (or progress toward one), experience in the travel, technology, or a high-growth startup environment, and prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics.
