Sr Financial Analyst – Strategic Commercial Finance – Salt Lake City | Zions Bank

• Team: Strategic Commercial Finance team within Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), providing dedicated financial support to the Bank’s Capital Markets Division.
• Mission: Deliver actionable financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership, influencing strategic decision-making and optimizing financial performance across Capital Markets.
• Tech Stack: SQL, Python, R, SAS, Power BI

What You’ll Actually Do
• Partner: Serve as the primary finance partner supporting the Bank’s Capital Markets Division, providing financial analysis and actionable insights to business and executive leadership.
• Report: Produce, validate, and distribute daily P&L reporting for capital markets portfolios, providing analysis of revenue drivers and significant performance variances.
• Lead: Lead the annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for Capital Markets business lines.
• Analyze: Analyze financial performance across Capital Markets activities, including foreign exchange (FX), interest rate derivatives, commodities, loan syndications, securities underwriting, and real estate capital markets.
• Present: Prepare and deliver executive-ready presentations, reporting packages, and financial analyses for senior leadership and key stakeholders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, or another business-related field, applying advanced financial analysis to strategic initiatives that influence Executive Leadership Team and Board decisions.
• Experience: 8+ years of experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, budgeting, analytics, or forecasting, specifically required to have supported Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Commercial Banking operations.
• Skills: Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and profitability analysis capabilities; proficiency with SQL, Python, R, SAS, Power BI, or similar analytical tools; strong business acumen to translate complex financial information into actionable business recommendations; proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build strong partnerships across Finance and business teams; exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership.
