What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide assistance to KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals regarding individual income tax compliance, payroll, process, policy, and advisory services.
• Collaborate: Work with KPMG’s Global Mobility Services tax professionals to support human resource and tax professionals within multinational companies to manage the tax implications of their global workforce.
• Prepare: Draft client correspondence and calculations on various international assignment matters, including policy issues, cost projections, tax settlements, and tax reconciliations.
• Analyze: Examine and track expatriate payroll, compensation, benefits, global mobility, and other assignment-related issues.
• Report: Create reports, analyze data, and monitor global mobility tax compliance status and other assignment-related projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree; this is an entry-level internship. Coursework or concentration in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Economics, Human Resources, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
• Experience: No specific years of professional experience are required for this internship role, but applicants should possess knowledge of expatriate services, global mobility, and tax.
• Skills: Demonstrated technical aptitude, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills, with a quality service mindset. Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills are essential.
• Bonus: Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics is preferred. A preferred GPA of 3.0 or above. Working knowledge of tax software such as GoSystem Tax RS (GoRS) or CCH Axcess is also preferred. The ability to reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office, travel to work locations using personal transportation, and work on-site at client premises as needed is a plus.
