• Mission: To perform diverse accounting functions for multiple business entities, ensuring accurate, timely records and compliance with accounting principles.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Perform Core Accounting Functions: Execute a variety of essential accounting tasks for multiple business entities, including detailed bank reconciliations, accurate coding of expenses, precise payroll and equity reconciliations, efficient bill payments, and diligent management of accounts receivable.
• Support Tax Preparation: Prepare and organize comprehensive financial records necessary for general tax preparation, including the compilation of 1099s and tangible personal property returns, ensuring readiness for further processing.
• Deliver Financial Reports: Compile and present financial reports to clients on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, tailoring outputs to meet their specific needs and provide clear financial insights.
• Apply Accounting Principles & Analysis: Consistently apply basic accounting principles and established methods, such as cash, accrual, and GAAP, and critically analyze accounting data with attention to big-picture implications and logical thinking.
• Facilitate Communication & Client Interaction: Effectively communicate project statuses and address questions with team members and supervisors, while also interacting with clients to gain a basic understanding of their financial affairs and needs as directed by relationship managers.
• Manage Engagements & Contribute to Team: Manage time effectively to prioritize multiple engagements and meet deadlines, actively contributing to team efforts by supporting colleagues, taking initiative, and displaying flexibility to handle assigned responsibilities.
• Achieve Performance Targets: Meet annual billable hour targets and other individual performance goals, fulfilling overall firm productivity expectations through diligent work and efficient task completion.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate degree in accounting or finance with relevant experience allowed; Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred. Early Career level with an understanding of basic accounting principles, debits/credits, journal entries, and financial statements.
• Experience: Proficiency in learning and using accounting software and related tools.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, accurate mathematical and financial analysis skills, ability to follow procedures, and ability to work independently while seeking support as needed.
• Bonus: Flexibility to work beyond regular hours to meet team deadlines.
