Accounting Associate – CAAS Nonprofit | CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen)

• Mission: This person processes daily, monthly, and quarterly financial transactions to support multiple nonprofit clients within the CAAS industry.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Management: Gain proficiency in managing services for multiple clients, adapting to various software platforms, and understanding different chart of accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Daily Transaction Processing: Coordinate and accurately process fundamental financial transactions including accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll.
• Month-End Financial Preparation: Complete financial statements and meticulously coordinate and finalize account reconciliations for various accounts such as bank, credit card, prepaids, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accruals.
• Complex Reconciliation Support: Execute complex account reconciliations that have been previously established and are supported by a Senior Associate, Assistant Controller, Controller, or CFO.
• Periodic Compliance Filings: Complete essential quarterly and annual processing tasks, including sales tax returns, Form 1099s, and other specific forms or items as requested by clients.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally with a focus on accounting or finance. A combination of related experience, education, and training may be considered in lieu of a degree. This is an Associate-level position.
• Experience: Accounting and financial experience is preferred for this role. While no specific years of experience are mandated, a foundational understanding of accounting principles will be beneficial.
• Skills: Core capabilities include managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, processing cash disbursements and receipts, preparing financial statements, and performing detailed account reconciliations.
