Tax Intern | Grant Thornton (US)
The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at Grant Thornton (US). This hybrid role requires in-person attendance at a Grant Thornton office or client site at least three days per week. Grant Thornton operates a multinational, multidisciplinary platform with a roster of 12,000 professionals, delivering audit, tax, and advisory services to clients globally. As a Tax Intern, you will gain exposure to tax procedures, contribute to client engagements, and build foundational skills in tax consulting and preparation, supporting the firm’s commitment to building trust into every result.

• Mission: To support tax consulting and return preparation through research, planning, and work paper preparation, contributing to client engagement success and building client relationships.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Review Tax Data: Review data input, identify, and resolve technical tax issues, assisting in the review of tax preparations completed by the firm in India.
• Address Inquiries: Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
• Research Tax Issues: Identify, research, and assess various tax issues while providing information to senior staff members.
• Manage Projects: Identify and carry out other projects as assigned, working on a variety of client engagements in varying industries.
• Build Relationships: Collaboratively work with client team members, building rapport and strong client relationships, and networking with peers.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Experience: Minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0. Willingness and ability to work additional hours, as needed, and travel to various client sites (including on short notice). Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills. Strong technical aptitude and skillset. Demonstrated project management skillset including project planning and time management. Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a complex team environment.
