Community Support Specialist | Greystar

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Greystar, a leading global real estate platform. Greystar is a large organization managing over $300 billion in real estate and over one million units/beds globally, specializing in property management, investment, development, and construction services for rental housing. This role is crucial for supporting the financial operations of Greystar communities by handling accounting, bookkeeping, and other financial responsibilities within a centralized Resource Center team. This position directly impacts consumer experience and ensures accurate financial transactions for both residents and vendors.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Optimize Consumer Experience: Contribute to and facilitate an optimized consumer experience in a virtual environment via phone, email, and other technologies.
• Manage Financial Operations: Conduct detailed reviews and process onsite operational expenses for payment, reconciling work, confirming goods, and coding expenses to appropriate accounts.
• Handle Resident Accounts & Collections: Communicate with residents regarding account balances, implement procedures for collecting on delinquent accounts, and enforce lease contracts to maximize revenue.
• Process Lease Terminations & Audits: Complete final accounting procedures for move-outs, ensure accurate billing, and assist with administrative paperwork within the resident lifecycle, including file and insurance audits.
• Coordinate Vendor & Utility Management: Coordinate setting up new vendors and service providers for payment, resolve invoice and payment disputes, and review utility billing resident charges for accuracy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Demonstrated understanding of property operations, including lease terms, lease enforcement, collections/delinquency management, accounting principles, and customer service.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in accounting, property management (preferably in an Assistant Community Manager role), or other related experience is preferred. Strong proficiency in using property management software.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively; Proficiency in Internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs; Strong mathematical skills necessary for financial calculations.
• Bonus: College degree in a related field.
