Financial Accountant | Sares

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Concord Hospitality Enterprises, a company that manages a diverse portfolio of hospitality properties. The Financial Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining accurate and timely financial records for these assigned properties. This position is critical for ensuring the financial integrity of each hotel’s balance sheet through meticulous daily bookkeeping, reconciliation, and audit-ready documentation.

• Mission: Own the day-to-day operational accounting processes to maintain the financial accuracy and integrity for an assigned portfolio of hotel properties.

What You’ll Actually Do
• General Ledger & Daily Operations: Maintain accurate and timely financial records for an assigned property portfolio by performing daily bookkeeping functions, including posting journal entries and ensuring all entries are properly supported for audit purposes.
• Accruals and Expense Control: Manage monthly accruals across key expense categories such as taxes, insurance, payroll, utilities, and various fees, maintaining organized and audit-ready documentation in line with corporate standards.
• Financial Reconciliations: Complete regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations, promptly resolving discrepancies and ensuring all accounts are fully supported each month, while also managing weekly cash positions and posting daily cash activity.
• Reporting & Analytical Support: Review P&L statements, support variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies, and assist in audit preparation (including internal, SOC, and third-party audits) and due diligence efforts related to property acquisitions or sales.
• Operational Collaboration & Communication: Regularly review hotel ledger activity (guest ledger, AR aging, advance deposits) to identify and escalate issues, collaborate with operations leaders, and participate in owner calls to communicate financial performance and understand expectations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professional with foundational knowledge in financial accounting processes for a multi-property environment.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability in daily bookkeeping functions including posting journal entries, managing accruals, and performing reconciliations to ensure balance sheet integrity.
• Skills: Meticulous attention to detail in maintaining accurate financial records, strong organizational skills for audit documentation, effective discrepancy resolution, and foundational analytical capabilities.
• Bonus: Prior hotel financial experience is preferred.
