STAFF ACCOUNTANT | Lease Crutcher Lewis

The Tone:
This is a full-time, office-based role at Lease Crutcher Lewis, located in Portland, Oregon. Lease Crutcher Lewis is a 100% employee-owned general contractor. This Staff Accountant position is crucial for maintaining accurate, timely, and well-documented financial activity across accounts payable, owner billings, and job cost transactions. The role is essential for ensuring smooth financial operations and fostering productive relationships with internal and external partners.

• Mission: Ensure financial activity related to accounts payable, owner billings, and job costs is accurate, timely, and well-documented while fostering strong relationships.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounts Payable: Perform full-cycle accounts payable functions for assigned construction projects, including invoice intake, approval, posting, and payment processing.
• Owner Billings: Process owner invoices, cash receipts, and adjustments, ensuring accuracy and communicating payment status to relevant parties.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain internal financial work papers, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for close activities.
• Cash Management: Support daily cash management for assigned bank accounts, including periodic transfers and funding requirements.
• Issue Resolution: Partner with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors to research and resolve invoice, payment, reconciliation, and documentation issues professionally.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-Level career experience with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field preferred, along with working knowledge of account analysis, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial documentation.
• Experience: Two to three years of experience in an office, accounting, finance, or administrative environment, preferably in the construction or related industry, and required experience with networked accounting or information systems.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel including queries, pivot tables, and financial data analysis; strong analytical skills, numerical aptitude, accuracy, and attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to adapt to new systems, manage recurring deadlines, and prioritize work.
• Bonus: Spectrum and/or Procore experience is strongly preferred, experience working with financial statements is preferred, and CMA or CPA certification is helpful.
