The Tone:
This is a 13-week rotational program at Bank of America, located in New York City. Bank of America is a leading global financial institution, offering extensive services across Global Banking and Global Markets. This program provides recently transitioned veterans with the opportunity to explore new career paths within financial services, immerse themselves in day-to-day industry experiences, and contribute to cutting-edge problems and innovative solutions for clients.

The TL;DR

• Team: Rotational placements across various desks and groups within Global Banking & Global Markets.
• Mission: To provide recently transitioned veterans with diverse career exploration and hands-on experience in financial services, potentially leading to a full-time associate role.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), market data sources. Experience in programming languages (Java, C, C++, Scala, Perl, R, Slang), databases (NoSQL, column stores), and data visualization is a plus for some roles.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coordinate: Manage activities for team members and clients, taking on new responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Build Relationships: Facilitate information flow and foster connections across various products and businesses.
• Research and Report: Conduct industry and product research, maintain databases, and write comprehensive reports.
• Prepare Materials: Create pitch books, live deal materials, and provide economic and market updates for new business pitches.
• Analyze and Model: Perform complex financial modeling, valuation work (e.g., discounted cash flow, pro forma merger, comparable company analysis), and conduct due diligence.

The Must-Haves
• Background: BS/BA degree with outstanding academic qualifications. Applicants must have completed active military commitment within the past five years or currently be serving in the Military Reserves or National Guard. Open to commissioned officers or strong enlisted members.
• Experience: Must be available for the full duration of the program in New York City from March 8, 2027 – June 4, 2027. Interest in long-term financial services careers is encouraged; veterans applying for business school should apply via campus MBA recruiting, and those seeking immediate hire should use lateral recruiting.
• Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with a numeric and problem-solving orientation. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Distinguished verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex material simply. Strong interpersonal skills for client-facing roles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Degree concentrations in Finance, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a finance-related field are desired. Understanding of accounting, financial modeling, and corporate finance, along with working knowledge of financial statements. For some roles, knowledge of a programming language and experience in statistics, machine learning, databases, or data visualization is a plus.
