Account Clerk II – Lihue, Kauai | Hawai`i State Judiciary

What You’ll Actually Do
• Ledgers: Maintain subsidiary ledgers for various accounts and quantitative records.
• Clerical Work: Perform complex clerical tasks involving the maintenance of accounts and quantitative records.
• Fiscal Systematization: Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial accounting records complete.
• Reporting: Derive reports from comprehensive financial accounting records.
• Supervision: May supervise and participate in performing moderately complex clerical work.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Requires knowledge of arithmetic and spelling, typically gained through work experience or high school education, with further substitution options for an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fields.
• Experience: One-half (1/2) year of general work experience demonstrating basic arithmetic, spelling, ability to follow directions, clear writing, and quick observation of numerical and verbal differences. Additionally, one (1) year of specialized experience posting to accounting records and systematizing fiscal information, which includes computing, classifying, and recording numerical data for financial accounting records.
• Skills: Arithmetic and spelling proficiency; ability to follow oral and written directions; clear and direct written communication; quick and accurate observation of words and numbers; knowledge of standard accounting classification and terminology; understanding of office practices and procedures for processing and recording transactions.
