Accounting Assistant, Intercompany | DSV – Global Transport and Logistics

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-office role at DSV, located in Iselin, New Jersey. DSV, founded by ten independent hauliers in 1976, has grown to become the world’s 3rd largest global transport and logistics provider, operating in over 80 countries. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health and efficiency of DSV’s intercompany operations by ensuring accurate reconciliations, timely payments, and effective dispute resolution across multiple entities and currencies. The Accounting Assistant contributes directly to the smooth flow of goods and services globally, supporting DSV’s mission to add value to customers’ entire supply chains.

• Mission: This role ensures accurate intercompany financial transactions, timely payments, and resolution of discrepancies to support global transport and logistics operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconciliation: Reconcile Agent balances for both accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Invoice Processing: Track invoices within defined payment cycles to ensure timely recording and settlement.
• Dispute Resolution: Research and resolve disputed invoices efficiently.
• Financial Monitoring: Monitor A/R and A/P aging statements, providing status updates and recommendations for issue resolution.
• Reporting and Analysis: Produce ad-hoc analysis of transactions from various branches and entities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Foundational understanding of intercompany accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
• Experience: Relevant experience in accounting operations, with specific attention to detail in financial tracking and reconciliation.
• Skills: Proficiency with MS Excel, excellent oral and written communication skills, highly organized, and strong attention to detail.
• Bonus: Prior SAP experience.
