Financial Reporting Associate | Prudential Financial
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Prudential Financial, located in Newark, NJ, with a hybrid work arrangement. This role is crucial for setting up automated accounting for new business initiatives, ensuring best-in-class financial reporting, and directly shaping Prudential’s future business outcomes and impact on customers.

• Team: Accounting Implementation Solutions (AIS) team, within the Finance Services Organization (FSO) under the Corporate Controllers Department.
• Mission: To assess, design, and implement accounting for new business initiatives, ensuring Prudential’s financial reporting remains best-in-class.
• Tech Stack: Table Maintenance System, PIPS, Oracle ledger, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Implementation: Create Statutory and GAAP accounting examples for new transactions related to new business initiatives.
• System Collaboration: Partner with Operations and technology teams to execute and test system changes, ensuring correct STAT and GAAP reporting in administration systems.
• Documentation & Monitoring: Update relevant documentation for new business releases and process/monitor proofs and controls to ensure accounting accuracy, researching and resolving any issues.
• Issue Resolution: Support other FSO teams, Operations, and Finance by researching and resolving questions related to policyholder accounting.
• Audit Support: Provide assistance for internal and external audits focusing on policyholder accounting.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Accounting degree; strong foundational accounting skills.
• Experience: 1-2 years of accounting experience; strong partnering, written, and oral communication skills; strong analytical and research skills.
• Skills: Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments; self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team; detail-oriented; proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Bonus: Knowledge of STAT and GAAP reporting, Financial Information Systems, Oracle ledger, and PIPS sub-ledger.
